SSS&K earns highest verdict in New York
Our recent $10 million verdict in a breast cancer case was recognized by the New York Law Journal as the highest "failure to diagnose" verdict in New York State for 2008. The case involved a radiologist who failed to identify a mass on a mammogram film which resulted in a delay in the diagnosis of breast cancer.

Jeff recently lectured at a seminar for “Building Your Civil Trial Skills," where he spoke on the topic of jury selection. The program was sponsored by National Business Institute.
Jeff also completed another successful lecture series on trial techniques and preparation. Over the past 8 years, the New York County Lawyers' Association has invited him to speak on trial related topics for its highly successful "Practice of Law" series.

Karla Moskowitz putting the program together. The participants for 2009 included: Hon. Bernard Fried, Supreme Court NYS, Hon. Debra James, Supreme Court NYS, Hon. George Daniels, United States District Judge, Hon. Marcy Kahn, Supreme Court NYS, Hon. Paul Crotty, United States District Judge, Hon. Doris Ling-Cohan, Supreme Court NYS, Hon. Richard Braun, Supreme Court NYS, Hon. Denny Chin, United States District Judge, Hon. Loretta A. Preska, United States District Judge, Hon. Shirley Kornreich, Supreme Court NYS.
Jeff also put together and impressive list of participants for this years "In-Chambers" series, which allows young lawyers to enjoy a lunch hour with some of New York's top judges. $5.5 Million Settlement
We recently obtained a $5.5 Million Settlement for a 52 year old female waitress struck by a New York City vehicle while crossing 9th Avenue in Manhattan. As a result of the accident, she sustained facial fractures and a brain injury requiring a craniotomy and lobectomy.

The New York State Bar Association again invited Marvin to lecture for their annual Trial Lawyers summer meeting, which was held this year in Bermuda. Marvin's topics covered jury selection and cross examination techniques.

Her radiologist failed to properly interpret a mammogram and request a breast biopsy, which delayed her diagnosis of breast cancer. Unfortunately, she died 18 months after diagnosis, leaving behind a husband and 2 children.

Marvin was one of several distinguished panelists for the Suffolk Academy of Law's "How To Conduct a Civil Trial" lecture series in April, 2008.
He is also a featured speaker at this year's Summer Meeting of the New York State Bar Association, to be held in June, 2008 at the Fairmont Southampton Hotel in Bermuda. The topics he will cover include jury selection and cross examination.

Marvin Salenger was honored by the Ascent Funding Organization for his consistent efforts in fighting the battle against autism. Ascent is a school dedicated to the education of individuals with autism. Over 400 people attended the event held at the Crest Hollow Country Club in Woodbury, NY.
